Botanical Hand & Body Cream Recipe
|
BOTANICAL HAND & BODY CREAM:: This thick, rich cream is one of our staff favorites. Made with the moisturizing power of the lactylates, this cream will actually improve the skin's natural moisture levels, while giving the cream a smooth, luxurious feel, and the skin a soft, hydrated, feel, without greasiness ... Organicals Dew Drops and VegeMoist offer superior hydration for deep moisture, Oat Powder soothes and revitalizes the skin with nutrients and beta glucan, Cupuacu Butter offers phytosterols and fatty acids to soften and nurture the skin, NatureMulse offers moisture repair, Cranberry Seed Oil offers regenerative activity, while our natural preservative Gluconolactone & Sodium Benzoate offers skin friendly protection while adding smoothness. Simple procedure and easy to use ingredients gives this formula a skill level of Beginner to Experienced. Ingredients: Procedure:Phase A: Combine and mix high shear (stick blender) until Gluconolactone & Sodium Benzoate is dissolved (you may see a few crystals that haven't dissolved and that is fine). Heat to 170F, stirring occasionally, to prevent settling. Phase B: Combine and heat to 170F, stirring occasionally with a spatula, to prevent the ingredients from sticking to the bottom. Once both phases have reached 170F, remove from heat and begin mixing Phase B, high shear*, and add Phase A, slowly. Continue mixing high shear until the emulsion forms and starts to thicken, about 10 minutes. Begin cooling, and stir for 5 to 10 minutes, every 20 to 30 minutes, depending on the size of the batch, until cool to 110F. Phase C: Add to cooled Phase A, with high shear mixing, continuing to mix for 5 to 10 minutes.
* TIP: When mixing high shear keep the mixing head tilted and toward the side to prevent creating a central vortex and the incorporation of excess air. If you end up with an airy appearance, in your cooled product, you can use a propeller blade to remove the excess air. The product should be smooth and glossy.
