Creating Composition Statement / Document
|
|
At Ingredients To Die For we are all about empowering our business customer. That philosophy coupled with our aggressive protection of our customers is why we do not create any documents which may be required for any one customer / company.
For those of you who wish to include a composition statement / document with your product line it means that you will either have to pay for our Special Order Documentation service or create your own. Here we will spell out the process for those customer's / company's who wish to create their own rather than pay for the service.
To create your own composition statement / document you will need to show the percentage banding (the percentage range which the product may contain) for each material in your product. You will find these numbers listed on the item page for each material, under that item's posted "Usage Guidelines" except in the case of an included material which is already a combination of raw materials and in that case you will get that banding from "Composition" section of the posted "MSDS" for the item.
For example, if we wanted to create the composition statement / document for our Organicals Dew Drops (Moisturizing Complex) we would go to the item page and get the INCI, which shows us exactly what is contained in this product, and and use that as our starting point by pasting it in a sequential list: Vegetable Glycerin 1.0 - 40.0% Water (qs) 33.0 to 95.85% Zizyphus jujuba (Jujube) Fruit Extract 0.1 to 5.0% Macrocystis pyrifera (Sea Kelp) Extract 0.1 to 5.0% Yeast Extract 2.0 to 5.0% Chondrus crispus (Carrageenan/Irish Moss) Extract 0.1 to 5.0% Porphyra umbilicalis (Nori) Extract 0.1 to 5.0% Gluconolactone (and) Sodium Benzoate 0.75 - 2% if you wish you could further break this combination down and use the posted (from the MSDS) range for each as: Gluconolactone 0.556875 - 1.485% Sodium Benzoate 0.185625 - 0.495% Calcium Gluconate 0.00075 - 0.002% ...then, we look up each ingredient to see the posted usage rates are for each and paste that information next to each ingredient in our list ... in this case, when we get to the extract we note that because every botanical extract carries the same specifications that information, including usage guidelines, is posted on the main category page rather duplicating information across tens of products and when we go to the main category page we see the posted information which indicates that each plant material will be contained in the range of 0.1 to 5.0% ... ... then, to determine the QS for water you will just do the math for both the minimum and the maximum ... ... then, you'll need to know any document regulations to know the formatting however, you can usually list the percentage range with < (less then) or > (greater than) so, in the case of Gluconolactone (and) Sodium Benzoate you could list it as <= 2.0% and so on ... ... also, you can sometimes simply indicate a "mixture" for composition of included blends or, the "(and)" to indicate that the percentage is unknown, which will only apply to non hazardous materials ...
For those customers who prefer to have us create these documents you may order them here: Special Order Documentation and then send us email, using the order confirmation, to let us know what you need.
We thank you!!!
